with My Graduation Looming in the Horizon

the next question is

WHAT'S NEXT??

[what are my future plans]

constant questions/passing remarks made by concern beings:

1) Which companies have I applied to???

2) Which field/s am I considering ??

3) You should start applying now!!
I wonder if I will get used to the new role which I have to play - the migration from a student to a working adult! I have been part of the Education System for the past 19 years, a routine which I have grown accustomed to! 1/2 Part Mugger though not a very academically inclined one but nonetheless and 1/2 Part Carefree, Mega Careless Day-Dreamer. A failure in an exam/test, just study harder the next round and the cap can still be saved! No need to fret when you lose a competition, as there will always be other chances! Underperformance will only bring Complains to the Parents during PTM, Daily Lectures by the Parents rolled with threatening actions - like cutting off the hp line, if you do not "pull up your socks"
School life is like a Progressive Structured Routine! Everything is Pre-Planned! Every Year the minimum requirement is to pass both the Mid & Final Term Exams and move up to the next level! The common route taken is After Kindergarden it is Primary School, then Secondary School, then either Poly, ITE, or JC followed by University!
I have my answer to what happens after Varsity! I will be enrolled in the School of Hard Knocks[Looks like we will all be students for Life] There will no longer be anyone to shield me from my Mistakes! Mistakes made will be Costly, Decisions made will have Severe Consequences and My Reputation will be hanging on the Line!
To the concern beings out there :
I am heading for the ER department soon. I have to tackle the dreaded EXAMS and send out my Resume ! I considered applying for a Marketing Job, but I can't even write a CONvincing CV & Resume! How can I be trusted to come up with a CONvincing Campaign to sell a product, when I can't even sell "Myself", a product whom I have known for the past 22 years? My operation will end in 1 1/2 mths time, but *Please DO NOT send Stuff toys as I am allergic to them! Cards filled with well wishes or prayers and bouquets of wild flowers are deeply appreciated! Thank You (:

Most of you know that I am not a movie fan! In fact I rarely give the movie pages a second glance or at most I will skim through it, and when I flip the page, the titles which I looked at will fly out of my mind! The last time I paid for a movie, was the day before I got my A Level's results! I caught Ray Charles - Brilliant Show, Wonderful Soundtrack and Lovely Company! I have only caught one movie with my JC Classmates and that happened only after we graduated! We caught Harry Potter! The number of movies which I have watched within the last 6 years can be counted with one hand! I admit I am stingy Miser and I feel it is daylight robbery to pay $10- [up to now I have no idea how much it cost to watch a movie] for a movie ticket???? I rather spend the money to fill my tummy! However recently I have been bitten the movie bug and within the last 6 month, I am proud to proclaim that I have caught at least 10-15 movies. Looks like my movie drought has ended, all thanks to the free screening! My movie buddies, are twice/triple times my age and they are none other than my parents!

Occasionally after the Movies, we will head for a late Dinner and I have come to a conclusion that Singapore is on the Path of becoming an OBESE Society in the Near Future! The Hawker Centres are still bustling with activity at 10 Plus! The "clanging" of the woks, the never ending chatter and the sight of many people pigging out! If you are jobless or clueless of what sort of Job to take up or planning a mid career switch. Maybe you would like to consider a job in the Fitness Industry, Health Centres - slimming, Medical ... I am positive that these industries will never die, they have lots of potential for growth and a rapid increasing pool of customers! Adopt my advice and very soon you will be laughing to the Bank! *Looking at the kilos I am gaining, who knows I might be your potential customer!

Head down to
TAK PO
if you are craving for Dim Sum

Address: 42 Smith Street
Nearest Mrt: China Town
Tel: 62250302
Business Hours: 7am - 10.30 Daily

Being an Egg Tart Fanatic, I can't help raving about the Egg Tarts found here! For just 90 cents each, they are simply a steal. The pastry is flaky, crispy and is a perfect match with the custard filling - which is not too sweet, not overly yellow and extremely light, creamy and smooth! A Must Try!!

Hours with them always fly by at rocket speed !

The chinese believe that eating Noodles will bring a life of Longevity. The four of us ordered 4 bowls of noodles, so even though it is an "old wives tale" or "ancient superstition" I would love to believe in it! Looking foreward to our golden years together!

With the police hot on their heels to nab young drunk drivers at roadblocks set up along many roads & the risk of losing the driving license. To avoid getting a mega hang-over the next day plus Ms A was on medication and we had two drivers in the group. I enjoyed the kaffeklatsch (coffee + gossip) at CQ.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
High on coffee and as the nights was still young, to satisfy Ms S and My curiosity, Mr S gamely agreed to be our tour guide to the infamous redlight district in Geylang - Lor 12. Cruising down the street in his Honda Jazz, it had the feeling of at art's gallery. There was a whole long row of "paintings" hanging on both sides of the street. If I could put a name to the exhibition, I would call it the "MINIMALIST". The "paintings" were hung about 1/2 a meter away from one another. A common theme running through all the "paintings" - an air of feminine sexiness, temptation, bold & forthcoming surrounded them! A couple of "paintings" looked uber stylish and classy and if "hung" at any Up- Market Bars, Wine House or an Expensive Eatery, they could easily blend in with the rest of the other "paintings". What's an art gallery without potential buyers? We saw many! Some were just admiring from far, Some highly interested buyers were seen negotiating with the "paintings" whether it was a valuable buy for the price quoted on the price tag. Lastly a couple of proud new owners who were satisfied with their purchases, had their arms wrapped around the prized "paintings" and "walked" out of the store with them.

Had a Picnic:

at a different venue from the norm

not at East Coast Park,

not at West Coast Park,

not at Botanical Gardens

But

at a Beautiful Location

overlooking the Singapore River

with Towering Majestic Buildings in the Horizon

A Captivating view of The Fullerton Splendor

& The ACM as our neighbour

We were sitting on a Hot Spot

On Prime land

Within the CBD

With Steep Rental Prices

The only downside,

the drinks attracted the Ants

and some fell into the cups!

But they died a painful death,

by drowning in the syrup

Had the experience of what it was like to be cage animal with on-lookers gawking at me
Let's Talk About Another "O Word"
i am growing
OLD
you know you are growing old when ...
1) You have blown off 21 Candles from your cake! A "warm" welcome to Adult Hood!
2)You are just 3 yrs away from being classified under Mid 20s!
3)An outing with your Girlfriends, includes the discussion on the benefits of taking Calcium Tablets, Tying the Knot with that special someone, Mortgages & Loan Payment for the Car & House, Kindergardens and Courses for Children, Jobs, Health Scares and Regular Check-Ups ... blah blah blah
4) You no longer have the patience and desire to squeeze & queue for hours with teens, who are 5-10 years your junior, just for a seat at some eatery which used to be one of your favourite hangouts 5 years ago
5)You junk all your mini skirts out of your cupboard as you feel that they are way too short! You stop buying tee shirts and you hunt the streets for office wear!
6) The only exercise you get is walking to and from the MRT station every day, as you are just too lazy to run! Just a ten minutes run leaves you breathless so you see no point in running!
If I am growing Old, means you are all growing Old too :P

Lets Talk About the 'O' Word!

OBSESSION

My Mum usually turns a little irritated whenever she finds caterpillars, grass hoppers or other mini pests munching and chomping on her herbs and plants. What is usually left is a skeletal structure of the original leaf or at the extreme case only the stalk! She finds great joy in catching them in plastic bags or cutting off insect infested leaves, she does it like once a day!

My Dad, loves sweeping up the leaves that are blown into the patio. He usually sweeps them up min 3 times per day! Cutting off the unsightly yellow and brown leaves on the plant, is his stress reliever.
Being their daughter, my obsession can't be too far off from something to do with nature. I love to doodle on my text and notes - and yup you have guessed it rightly! I heart drawing flowers and leaves (:
