In all started with a comment made by my housemate that she wanted to eat pizza. I gamely agreed to bake her pizza! So the pizza led to crepe suzette which led to scones which led to bread ( my bread CMI - it tasted bitter and heavy, it simply did not rise!) I burnt the base of the pizza on my first and second attempt, on my third attempt the base was almost perfect! But now She is sick of pizza so next up will be stove top cookies!

Panjiayuan
Antique Market
Have A Guess(from the above picture): What item above made both women and men , stop suddenly along their tracks to squat down and take their time to carefully examine their prized possession before paying for their purchase/s? If you are thinking it is a piece of jade or an antique or a pearl or a piece of jewellery you are wrong! The item was a Walnut

An old 北京 craft - a cat made of mud and cardboard! When you pull its tail it will make a high pitch cat sound!

I spent Halloween at 后海, we didn't doll up in Ghostly Garments but one of the highlight's of the night was that both of us tried 臭豆腐. The pungent stench could be smelt like 10 meters away! It smelt like a mixture of dung and rotting rubbish! The main difference between the two stalls is that the one with the blue signboard serves pan grilled black bean 臭豆腐 and the one with the red signboard serves deep fried 臭豆腐! After a while your nose will get used to the stench and queuing for the beancurd becomes a less smelly affair! We found 臭豆腐 quite delicious, tasted like normal tofu, aside from the fact that your mouth will smell like 臭豆腐 after :( So this is a must not eat if you plan to go for a date, unless you are dating 臭豆腐 owner's daughter/ son :P

Someone drew this on the wall!
Even though I stood there staring at the rack for like 5 minutes I still could not figure out what exactly was on sale. Hallowmas?? What did that mean?
A stall was set up to help passerbys with their Halloween Make up!

Community Dancing at Hou Hai, as long as you have two feet, do join the crowd, it is quite fun!

Apparently it takes close to 3 weeks for mail to reach BJ instead of 1 week as what the postman told S! Thankfully the package was not lost in transition! Mr S told me not to think that the dress was manufactured in China :P Anyway as it is winter, it is difficult to find a piece made of so little material!

Marcus said that he wanted to show me around his Home City so he decided to bring us to 798! This is one of his favourite hunts! 798 is a Modern and Contempory Art's haven. With many small galleries, cafes and restaurants it is a beautiful place to hang out! We were racing to against the hands of time to complete the galleries. Too bad we lost, as much of the area was left undiscovered! I will be back soon, this time with a book!
