I don't mean to blame the culture in Singapore, but many of us do not have the habit of smiling at strangers on the train. For fear of being subjected to scrutiny and being labelled as a LOONEY! For me despite seeing many familiar faces in the train every morning, my smile seems to be stuck in my throat and in place of it a blank, dao and hostile face! I am super in love with my "Christmas Coloured Braces" so I will SMILE more to show them off to everyone! Hopefully no one will mistake the green bands as veg stuck between my teeth and the red bands as chilli!! Just need to get over my self conscious feeling when I smile at strangers. I know most probably I will be labelled as weird by 99% of the Singaporeans, however the 1% who appreciates my smile will make my day! The month of DEC, is smile to strangers month for me=) ha ha(=
